Been trying for years to find a good 65 or older crew cab Ford pickup. I'll prefer a 58-60 style, but please let me know if you guys have any leads. There's a perfect example in the old photo achive on this site under "1960." No custom jobs please, only factory crews.
Thanks!
Good luck! Just about everybody is looking for those trucks. I saw one ONCE on ebay, it was an old Air Force truck. Even in the worst condition, it's gonna cost several thousand dollars if you ever find another one.

There is No such thing as a Factory Crew Cab for the Orphan Years Trucks, '57-'60..
FoMoCo farmed out All Special Orders such as that to Companies that specialized in such things during those years.
Back in October I started a thread to find out how many Marmon-Herringtons are still out there. Turns out that Toolebox1 responded that he has this 1960 M-H 4 door conversion. He says M-H did these conversions from '57 on. You might private message him to see if he knows of any others. The fact that it was done by Marmon-Herrington says that it was a factory backed conversion. Good luck, and by the way, welcome to the group.

I don't believe that true "factory" crew cabs came out from Ford until 1967. I think anything before this time would have been asssembled by an aftermarket company such as Marmon-Herrington or Armbruster & Co. Any of these are going to be a really elite collectors item with a high pricetag, regardless of condition, if you can find one

Jon - I'll hijack this just this once and ask if you've seen this crew cab? I don't think it's been on here before, has it?
No, I don't think I've seen that particular one before, my guess is that its a home build (like mine), but a well done one however. Its possible its an aftermarket unit, but I doubt most people would do extreme mods (jacked up 4x4) like that on such a rare item. Where'd you find that one?
Also, I've got a pamplet (original) from Armbruster & Co, from 1952 about the crew cab conversions they did and prices. I'll try to get a good scan and post the info.
The first year for actual factory production of ford crew cabs was in 65. Many compaines modified cabs on special order. this included after ford started producing their own cabs.
I have a 66 crew made by crown. Factroy units can be observed to have a strip showing between doors and internal hinges. All others have external hinges and very small gap between doors.
Thanks for all the help guys, I was unaware that the truck I'm looking for is actually a 1960 Marmon-Herrington conversion. I had just assumed it was a very low production number factory truck. They're so rare I've never put much hope into finding one that is affordable, and non-original enough to build into a modern hauler for my other toys. The pic truckdog posted of the white truck is exactly what I'd love to find.
