Vacum advance problems?

67 F100 new 390 build, I have the Pertronixs ignitor with a Flame thrower coil. New Napa reman. dizzy. Vacum line is hooked up to my carb. Unhooked the vacum line from the vacum advance and plugged it. Set timing at 12btdc. at idle. Hooked up vacum line. My timing jumped to 22. at idle. The reman. dizzy came with a adjustable vacum advance and I dont have any of the washer/ spacers to adjust it so I put the new non adjustable vacum advance I had on it. Same thing happened. Rev it up and it advances to about 32. It seems a lot tighter than my old dizzy. I could suck on the vacum line hooked up to it and it seemed to move the points plate more than this one does. Drove it around the block and with it hooked up it seemed to not have any power. Unhooked and plugged it and drove it around the block and it drove good. Any ideas?

I think that you have it hooked to the wrong vacumn port. The port that you need is the one that has no vacumn at idle, metered port. Sounds like you are hooked the the full vacumn port.
