The parts catalogs call the headlight buckets the "headlamp assembly less bulb and wiring".
The text catalog lists one part number for 1948-55 (B8J 13008-A) and a different one for 1956 (B6C 13008-A).
But the illustrations catalog shows one 48-56 "typical" headlamp assembly.
The retaining ring that sits in front of the bulb and holds it down was the same from 48-56.
I'm not sure what the difference was in the two bucket assembly part numbers.
Could be a 6V/12V thing...different wiring leads and bulbs.
the difference is the '48-'55 style mount "outside" the grille. the '56 mount "inside" the grille. the outside edge of the '56 is smaller than the earlier buckets. also there is some difference in the springs that hold the bulbs in place.
