1988 F-150 4x4 5.0. I was trying to bleed my brakes this past weekend and I started in the rear and absolutely no fluid came out. But the front brakes squirt all day long. And there is/was plenty of fluid in the reservoir. I followed the lines and had no leaks, cracks, kinks..... I had my buddy in the cab pushing the pedal for me. Can anyone help me out on why I am not getting fluid to the rear brakes? Thanks.
That is in the proportioning valve.
The small pin must be pulled out and held while the brakes are bled then released.
If you have a 350 the pin must be pushed in.
Interestingly, I didn't do that to mine, and bled an entire new system, except for the valve, with a suction bleeder. It was a good bleed too. Maybe it is because the suction isn't compressing air.
I think on a newer truck like yours it is right under the master cylinder. On mine it was mounted to the frame below the master cylinder. Follow the lines from the master cylinder and they will go to it.
