On my '95 F-150, the plastic guard below my bumper has gotten chewed up on the right side. The bolt is still there but there is no hole for it to connect the guard because the hole got ripped out (probably when I drove over that rock back when I was 16) I was just wondering what my options are.
I realize that that plastic will reduce airflow below the truck, possibly giving a slight improvement on gas mileage.
Its only hanging down on one side. I noticed it before, but now that icicles have formed on it, it hangs down much farther.
What should I do about repairing this? Or would it be better to just lose the thing?
I'm pretty sure only two holes are gone on the far side, and the rest are fine.
thanks
not only that but on mine i took it off and it actually makes the truck look taller, also if you really want it to still be on there drill a hole through the plastic and zip tie it up through the bumber hole
sounds like they don't last long... lol. I was thinking about putting lift/leveling springs on the front to compensate for the F-250 leafs in back(although my angle of approach is rather unique and I like it.) Hopefully it won't make it look so tall that I have to get bigger tires, I just got new ones lol.
I guess the only thing I'm worried about is tearing up the bumper on something if the guard isn't there... I guess I'll let one more hole get ripped out... then say good bye (like I did to my muffler)
The air dam on my truck got ripped off when my brother took it on a couple of trails and caught it on a log. The log ripped it clean off. Now though, I have heard people say that it looks like a F-250 even though it is a F-150. It does make it look taller with it off.
And for the fuel mileage, it didnt change one bit.
