I'm looking at getting an '89 f-250 Custom. It has 238000km, 351cid, Reg cab, Long box, 4x4, Standard (I think its a 5 sp). Is there anything that I should look at/for before I buy this truck? They want $3995 CDN for it. Does that sound like a resonable price. Thatnks for any help.
Sounds kinda high to me, unless it's got meticulus records and new tires/battery/hoses/belt/brakes/clutch/tie rods/exhaust/etc. Looks good from this distance. How's it drive?
for reference, i just paid $3650 US (plus taxes) for my 89 F250 XLT Lariat 2WD with the exact same powertrain but only 76000 miles. I mean, my truck is so close to what that one looks like i thought you had stolen it for a second!
i know 4X4 runs extra, but with that many miles and only being a Custom (stripped) model, i'd see if you can get them down a little further. killer drivetrain combo, though.
as far as things to check for, my main concern when buying mine was that both tanks worked flawlessly. on the test drive i was CONSTANTLY flipping back and forth between the 2 to see if i noticed any difference in driving, any bucking, etc.
