hey all i'm in the process of restoring or restomodding my harddtop 64 falcon. originally a 260 auto. but currently a pretty wild windsor and 5spd. now heres what im thinking. what do you all think about building a poor mans 427, probably 390 based or 410 w/ med. riser intake and dual quads, blah blah, kind of like an AFX clone. im not worried at all about the fab work, thats all taken care of. or do i just need some good psyco help!
I'd go for it. I see you've been following Wes's poor man's 427 build huh?? LOL it's a pretty cool build and will be interesting to see how it runs. I sure do wish him the best. There are a few guys on there who have FE falcons. There is a guy around here who has a AFX 427 Comet. He drives it in the Memorial Day parade here every year. 427 with open headers and I can hear it coming a mile away. I think it's a 64 but not positive. Sweet car. "Rushing Russian" is the name on the car.
i think the project is def. a go. i dont have any pics. the car is just a bare shell right now fixing to go to the media blaster and then on to get the metal work done. itll def. have a crites teardrop on it and ive got a set of the small hubcaps like came on the white r code 66 fairlanes. i cant see spending 10-13k on a 427 so i'll have to go 390 based.
