i went to start my truck today and it is knocking it sounds like there might be something in the cylinder. either that or timing chain is rattling something awful i dont know need HELP?!

sorry bout that it was my 460 in my 79. i figured out what it was, the oil pump is out of it all the lifters droped and thats why it was knocking

Get a real oil pressure guage, hook it up temporarily and see what pressure you have. If it's very low and pulsating with the knock, the engine has had it.
