I replaced all sockets, all bulbs, checked the fuses, replaced the dimmer switch, and rewired the rear lighting. Are there any in line fuses? I cannot get the rear passenger side turn sig, or brake light to work. According to the voltmeter, no voltage is getting there. My dimmer had a short, so I hoped that would fix it, but no. I check the wires coming from the column and from the light switch and all looks good. From to the lights, everything appears to still be original. When I turn the lights on, I can get a driving light at the rear pass light, but not the front pass light and the right turn sig indicator stays lit. That makes me think there is a short, but I can't find one. Help me please. :0
Thanks
Aaron

Aaron, pull the steering wheel and spray contact cleaner in the turnsignal switch. I was able to clear up a problem by doing that. There are no inline fuses that I am aware of.

In the cool still quiet of night you can hear chevies rusting away.
The only grounds I could find were the ones at the taillights, the front lights only have two wires going to them. I cleaned up both of the rear grounds. If I am missing one, say something.
Thanks
Aaron
The front lights ground to the frame also, it may be the same place the headlights do.

When you checked the wiring with your meter did you put the black lead on a good ground (frame)? If you did, and you did not have any voltage I would suspect the turn signal switch. The brake light goes through the turn signal switch too. Wiggle it around in-between the detents and see if it tries to work.
One time when I replace the clutch. I lay the tranny crossmember on top of the wiring harness and a about 3 weeks later started to have light trouble in the rear. Also as stated pull steering wheel and clean that up in there also.

This sounds like the turn signal switch, inside the steering column behind the steering wheel, is dead. Both the brake lights and the turn signal are fed thru this. It is really a "mickey mouse" setup and not what I would call a very good engineering decision. On the bright side they are fairly cheap and not to hard to replace

This sounds like there is a ground missing/broken/corroded for the front "running " light. There should be a black wire going to a ground stud from the light assembly, and it shoud be within 6-8 inches of the assembly. If I rememeber correctly the headlights are grounded on the same stud.
Good luck.
