Expensive Penny
Well I was losing dashboard lights and tail lights and was not very happy about it. I could not find the short in my electrical anywhere. So I took my beloved truck to my mechanic and he ripped into it and five hours later he found the cause. On the passenger side behind the dash is an open ground and he tells me that a penny which must have fallen behind the dash sometime had now come in contact with this open ground and was causing all my problems. It had six little marks on it from where it caused the shorts. Neither he or I could believe that this little penny was the source of my problems. He charges $50.00 per hour labor and worked on it today for 5 hours. He is not charging me for the two hours he spent on it the other day when he could not find anything. So each one of those little marks on that penny cost me $41.67 + 14% in taxes. Could have been worse I guess, may never have found it. Bad thing is that I have only had this truck for a little over a month and I am sure it was not even my penny!

ya sometimes its the wierdest things. last year on my moms car when you turned the blower motor to high you heard this loud noise and we couldnt figure it out. everything seemed normal and it was only on max. so we took it to a friend who was a mechanic and found out that the blower was sucking up a map from the glove box and the paper was hitting the fan. at least he diddnt charge you another 2 hours of labor
