Converting points to electronic igntion

Planning on getting parts from the junk yard to convert my 76 f100 with 302 to electronic ignition. I was told to tell the person there just exactly what i wanted to do, and someone would know what I was talking about. I thought it would be better to ask you guys first if there is anything I should know before I do this, such as, does everything need to come from a specific make/model ford, or does this matter... anything else I should look for? Thanks for your time...

You want to get a blue grommet module and the distributor and ALL the wiring harness in between those items. They would not need to be from one vehicle as long as the module matches, the basic parts(harness, connectors, dist.) are the same.

I have even installed all the Duraspark components into a points distributor, it's not difficult. Requires minor cutting in the housing to make the round hole where the wire goes through into a slot for the Duraspark grommet, everything else fits right in. But the 302 Duraspark distributor is very common and easy to find, so you shouldn't have to go to that extreme.

As Putt said, get the module with the blue grommet. It's probably the most common one and best for all-around general use and performance.

Wiring it into the vehicle is simple. It's all basically self-contained if you get the harnesses, and you only need to hook up 2 wires. Let me know if you need wiring diagrams, I have several.

thanks for the info. wiring diagrams wouldn't be turned down as a just in case measure.
