They don't say what engine was in either and if either had any mods. The 6.0 isn't that much quicker off the line than a gass engine in stock form. Besides that, do you really want to have another Gas vs. Diesel thread. Do a search, I would think that all the arguing that would come up would satisfy your need to get another one of these going!

Really too short of a distance to gather anything other than the diesel got the jump. No surprise as it looked like the F250 driver knew what was going on.

The guy driving the diesel knew how to drive. There is no way he beats a V10 with all other things being equal.

My 95 F-150 with a 302 got off the line quicker than the gas truck did. That guy had no idea how to drive the truck. I'd be willing to bet that diesel had some mods.

My uncle had a 01 f-350 diesel, and my truck would smoke his as far as speed and off the line. Now, you put a load on them, thats a diffrent animal.

lol... every test in every magazine that has tested them has the 05 V10 doing 0-60 in 9.2-10 sec. every test of the 6.0 starting in '03 has it at 8.2-8.9 seconds zero to sixty. a V10 would get smoked by a 6.0

The only thing they mentioned at the sight where I picked up the Video is it was two Salesmen arguing about which could beat which, and they took out two new showroom trucks and raced them. They did mention one was a F250, and the other a F150.(Obvious). No spec's were mentioned.

We have a couple of 04 F250 Company Trucks here at work that have the V10. I have not driven them much, but I can say I was disappointed in performance. Would have to match them up I guess, but I feel my Stock 460 in my 78 F100 could take them.

Not trying to argue, but if the V10, and I have no idea comes in different displacment, then they have the small ones in the trucks I drove. You do get a little more torque to the wheels because of gears, but as far as snapping your head back when you romp it, they don't. On the other hand, when I stomp my 460, you better be braced for it, or your heads going to bounce off the back window.

I am sure you can put a chip in it and get more power, and do add on's. I was only getting at the performance of the V10 was disapointing. Like I said, I have only drove the company ones, and that is all I have to compare against.

As far as buying one, if I had the money to do what I wanted, it would not include the new trucks. I could have newer if I wanted, but I love the old iron. I dreaded each time I had to do something to my 93 F150. Last night I started pulling the 460(rebuild) out of my 78, and I was enjoying my self just like eating Candy.

You can laugh all you want to but the V10 has 40 more horsepower than the 6.0. ALL other things being equal, the V10 wins.

the V10 has 37 more horse power than the 6.0 but the 6.0 has 113 more ft lbs of tourque than the V10. that much more tourque more than makes up for 37 horse power. futhermore, you are telling me that all those magazines with their thousands of dollars of test equipment are all wrong and you are right.......now i am laughing

Yeah, it's kinda hard to argue with "thousands of dollars of test equipment". I thought we might consider engine horsepower/torque curves. You win-I lose.
