stupid question about head unit
ok...i have an older 40w x 4 cd player/head unit in my 87 f150. but i only have 2 speakers in my doors. they are 220w sony xplods. my question is would i get better sound if i spliced the front and rear speaker wires coming out of the head unit and sent all the power to my 2 speakers, or just leave the fronts hooked up and the rears unhooked to anything. wouldnt technically i have 80w x 2? thanks

the power will be slightly less if there were 4. it all depends on the impedences set by your hu. i would recommend installing some rear speakers tho, as u will get a more vibrant sound
