I was just wondering would be a good recomendation for an alternator for a 1995 F250 with a 460. The alternator I have I got at Advance Auto Parts and it went bad in 2 years.http://images.ford-trucks.com/forums...milies/mad.gif At any one time the alternator will run the heater blower / AC, 2 off road lights, headlights, tail lights, clearance lights, stereo system, and windshield wipers, so there is quite a load put on it. If anyone knows what would be a good and reliable alternator, I would appreciate it, I don't want to end up wasting my money again.
Well, if you don't mind replacing it again, they warrenty their parts for life. That's the problem though, if it's hard to get off, it's not much fun replacing inferior alternators all the time.
Their rebuilt alternators are a gamble, and next time you might get a good one. Or you could see if they sell brand new ones(I think they do). Or try another parts store. The stock alternator you have should be fine for your use, so I don't see any use in paying big money for an aftermarket alternator in your case.
