4.2 E-150 Runs Rough
E-150 Van, 4.2 engine 155,000 all highway, serviced regularly. Put plugs, wires, coil, and O2 sensors in, all motorcraft. From a dead stop has all kinds of power, transmission shifts through and between 40 and 50 mph starts to buck and miss.
Over 50 can drive it 85. This thing has been laid up for 3 months. I can't figure it out. Ford tech says i need an engine, at the tune of $6,000, I went duh.
So I really need some expert advice.

Check the mass air flow sensor It could be dirty or bad. Also check fuel pressure. You didnt mention if it has any fault codes. If it has a lean code I would think the mass air sensor is the possiable problem. Did the dealer give any reason for saying the engine is bad.
