I believe there are two plugs in the back of the truck where the harness plug is for the tail lights & turns. Drivers side rear just infront and above the bumper underneath these are where the wires from the cab end up. Also in the cab look directly between the cigarette outlet and the ash tray. Now follow down in a straight line to the bottom of the dash. Just over the carpet there is a black plate, kinda 1" X 2" there should be two that look identical. The left hand one should have you trailer wiring plug behind it. It's brown in color I think.

Yeah that plug is there.
But the ones under the bed (no bumper, cab & chasis, remember?) don't look the same as the ones on my ¾ ton. I guess I could get the trailer plug off the ¾ ton and try it on the 1 ton and see if if will fit and work.
Most cab and chassis usually were blunt cut wires at the end for the trailer wiring, not sure about the taillights. I'm not quite sure what you are talking about, but it will probably have to be cut and spliced. Best way to find out is try it like you said.
Another thing you will need is, to see if the relays were installed. My 97 F350 did not have relay panel installed. The two plugs and wires as describe above were there, but not hot. Had to go to Stealer and buy relay panel & relays and install. It is attached to aft side of fuse box (under hood)

Thanks,

I picked up my air bags today. $315.01 w/tax. Not bad. A friend of mine is gonna come over and help me put them on tomorrow. We're also gonna build a goose neck hitch and possibly a class V or VI receiver hitch.
I talk to the guy at U.S. Truck (where I got the air bags) and he said if the wiring wasen't there for the trailer brakes he would do it for $20. That's good with me. It would take me longer than 30 minutes to figure out what I was doing. After that I'd be losing money. I cost $40 an hour.
