Need a carb.
Hi guys. I am thinking about replacing the stock carb on my 79 F350 460 2wd Auto. Its a Holley and is original. Im wondering what I should replace it with? I am also dealing with CA Emissions. What are my options?

My choice would be the Carter or Edelbrock! Of course I'm biased, as I HATE Hollys! Either the Edelbrock or Carter carbs (same unit) are jetted for max mileage/emissions out of the box. Plus, they are very simple to adjust for your useage. I recomend the electric choke, 600 cfm unit. ..... Now watch the dissagreing posts flood in!

Not a disagreeing post...but more like...revising. =) Actually I too hate Holley carbs.. the design is good, however they seem to care more bout quantity than quality. I like the Demon carbs..Same design but alot nicer...ALl made from billet Aluminum..(I know I cant spell today) And anybody whocan tune a holley can tune these... Check em out...www.demoncarbs.com My next choice would be edelbrock.. I have one on my 390 now... Everybody will have their own opinion. And will have their own idea of good and bad, basically any carb can be junk if not tuned right. =)
