I had a P22. It was great as far as reliability and operation. Accuracy was good too. I sold it because it didn't fit my hand just right and I'm real picky about the way a handgun feels. I think I paid about 330 for mine though.
My newest toy is a Springfeild 45G.A.P. The GAP is a newer .45 round designed to replace the 45 auto. Don't really think it will ever be able to replace it but it is a joy to fire. Is your glock .45 auto or .45 GAP?
surewhynot- my glock is the full size .45 ACP, i sold a H&K USP fullsize .45 ACP to buy the Glock. the H&K didnt fit my hand perfect, so- seeyabye. i havent been happier since. im way more accurate of a shooter with my glocks, plus higher capacity mags. I saw the GAP.45 and questioned how easy it would be to find ammo for it in a pinch...
Greywolf- PPK .380 very slightly scrapes the top of my hand by my thumb, its only irritating after 150 shots. ill have to hold the P22 and pull the slide back to see if it hits.
if im lucky, i can talk my buddy into buying a P22 first cause he wants one too... then i can test it out and see what he thinks of it.
I have also been looking at getting a P22 in the very near future. The best deal I have found is around $240 for a black one with a 3.4 inch barrel. Some of the earlier P22's have had various problems, but newer ones seem to be much better. A great place to reasearch them and aquire information to tweak them is at the rimfire central forums. Have fun shooting , now where is my tax return so I can get mine????
jasoncar40- i think if you avoid the 2000-2001 models you should be ok, ( i think thats what they said on another forum ) so buying one NEW off the shelf now im assuming would ensure not ending up with a first year model.
let us know how it goes when you get your tax return ( something i dont think ill be getting but would be nice ! )
Has anyone used the guns of america website to purchase a gun? I wasn't aware the Walther was so inexpensive. I would definitely like to have one as a concealed carry gun.
For what its worth I have a P22. I got the combo with 3.4 and 5 inch barrels. Its pretty easy to switch but I just leave the 5 on it. I havent seen this combo deal lately. Never had any reliability issues, Im not sure about mechanical parts availability.
It does feel a little smallish to me, but hey its a 22 and the wife likes it. Its also pretty accurate with the long barrel. Yes I can notice the difference between short and long barrel for accuracy (and noise).

I did for one gun, but it was local and we did the transfer face to face. I got a good deal.
