I have a 1977 f150 with a c6 automatic I think I am having a problem with the linkage but IM not sure perhaps you can help
the thing is when its really hard to shift and it seems that there is no reverse or netural and you can put it in what i believe to be park then go up one and it goes into gear, I dont know alot about trannies and would love the feedback
oh yeah I have also noticed that there are no vacume lines hooked up on my 351m 400 2bl would that cause this problem?
If its a C6, you should have a vaccum line going from one of the vaccum ports on the carb to the modulator valve on the tranny. It has to have this vaccum to shift properly. As for the problem of shifting , you might just need to adjust the linkage.Have you had the tranny out?
No I have not done anything to it yet I just bought it for $100 a couple of weeks ago, there are photos in the gallery I havent climed under it to look at the linkage yet as it seems to snow on every day I have off im just trying to get some ideas of where to start.
this line should go to a 1/4" port on the side or bottom rear of carb.you should also have a pcv vaccum hose on rear of carb(5/16 or 3/8 size)going to pcv valve in the valve cover or breather box.
Ill check it out the last time I looked it didnt seem to have any lines hooked up which might explain the flames and excess of air coming from the carb
