same with the rear. not sure on your 50 but you will also probably have a tie rod in the way you gotta move also. pry from the bottom let it drain out and then pull cover off. wipe out the crevaces. rtv the cover really good. put it on tighten bolts and fill.
well its even worse than that!!! its the IFS front so you have to pull the whole trird member out to drain the fluid! which means drive shaft, both axles have to come out then unbolt the differential and remove it from the housing. the clean and put back together.
i have heard of some who have drilled a drain hole then plugged it with a bolt or threaded plug in the front of the axle into the stamped axle housing.

What I did, was using suction through the filling to get the oil out. I have a small hand-held vacuumcontainer that was perfect for the job....I couldn't see exactly what condition my differential was in, but I didn't see any metal in the old oil, so I just filled it up with some lovely new lubricant
1997F-350, I do have a drain plug in my rear axel(haven't tested it, but one bolt is higher than the rest of the bottom bolts)
