doing it right??!!

i am going 2 try and put in an amp/subs in my 2005 f150 s-cab with the factory radio (6disc/mp3) i am gonna use the rca converter on the rear channels for the amp. but i need some info about the right wires to use, what color wire is it for each channel and what side do they go to. also i was told that behind the radio there is a green with a yellow striped wire that i should use for the amps remote wire, is this correct??? any help would be great thanks for any info!!!!!!!

thanks for the help KC autosound!!! your wiring chart worked like a charm!!! i am curious as to if you know where i can get a sub box for 1, 10" sub that is not to high in price. i went to the local shop and the guy wanted $149.00, i went to another shop and that guy wanted 89.00 for a box that held 2, 10" subs, the single sub box was ported the other was not, which would you choose the ported or un ported for best sound? i really dont want to move the jack out of the way, thats the reason i only want 1 sub. well thanks again for all the info!!!!!!!!!!!

man talk about customer service!!! it took me longer to get a answer from the guy at the shop and i was 2 feet away from him!!!! thanks for the quick feedback the boxes i looked at were the pro-box-rocks(1 10"sub) and the (2 10" sub box) was made in house at the other private owned shop which do you feel would be better the sealed box or the ported box?? i dont care for booming out the neighborhood, i just want good sound in general!! thanks again P.S. maybe you should expand your self down here to sanantonio TX, its kinda hard to find shops here that care about what we want and not about selling the high$$$ audio stuff.

I'm a sealed guy. At least with a sealed box you know what to expect. Nice tight bass with a small box or nice long throw boomy bass with an oversized box. With vented enclosures there are just to many things to calculate.

I started out in the mobile audio business when I was 15 years old. I actually bought myself a Delta vertical panel saw and an auction and would rip out prefab enclosures for audio shops. Back then a prefab box for just two 12s would cost a dealer about a hundred bucks. I would rip out and sell them in groups of 10 for $75 apiece. My pops and I would load a trailer full and hit the local shops. Also took special orders as well. My father was a lead Electrician for the Air Force and my mother was a Production Manager for Harmon Industries, a safety equipment electronics company for the railroad. Kind of fell right into the electronics field.

In the years I have been a Circuit City Roadshop Manager for 3 1/2 years, Best Buy Manager, and worked for over half a dozen audio shops. Customer service has always been a #1 goal for me. Seems businesses have lost sight of that goal.

Example:
A friend told me about KCAutosound (Travis) and the installs they had done so I gave him a call. Travis talked with me for thirty minutes or so just listening to what I wanted. Then he gave me his suggestion. Which where right on the money. Travis Ordered my stuff on Monday and by Friday it sounded and felt like Tommy Lee was in the back seat and James Hetield was riding in my lap. It rocks. And I didnt go broke getting it done. It looks just the way I wanted it to. Travis knows his stuff and I will be using him agian.
Thanks
Bfligg
On my website you can see many more customer testimonials supporting my service. I'm here to take car of you FTE members and guide you along the right path. If I don't know the answer I know many other guys that I can contact and find the right one.
