Replaced O2 sensor - No change

A few days ago, I pulled the codes on my newly acquired truck (in sig). The codes I got were a 41, 53 & 96. At the time I had a pretty bad exhaust leak. I have since repaired the exhaust leak, and today, I put in a new O2 sensor. I cleared the codes by disconnecting the battery negative cable for a few seconds (is that the correct way?), and then hooked it back up and took the truck for a test run. When I got back, I pulled the codes again and I am still getting the same exact codes. I would have thought that by repairing the exhaust leak and replacing the O2 sensor that that would have cleared the 41 code. Your thoughts and suggestions on what else I should do would be much appreciated.

You can clear the codes by pulling the jumper wire while the codes are being blinked out, without having to disconnect the battery.

Ok, I was afraid I didn't leave the battery disconnected long enough. Appreciate the info.

Just went out and tried that and it worked like a charm, all cleared now. I, once again, took the truck for a test drive and checked it again when I came back. I'm still not showing any codes at all now. Is a 20 mile test run long enough for any codes to show up if they're going to?

You need about 30 minutes of driving time. This lets the computer relearn everything.
