here is my problem ,,, I just finished putting my suspension back together after a head on collision ,, the truck has been sitting since last september,, i have started the truck a few times since then but it has been at least a few months since i started it,, well i started it ,, and it ran for like 3 or 4 minutes then sputtered and tried to stall as i gave it more gas it just stalled out ,, i tried to start it a few more times ,, and nothing ,, then i tried some starting fluid ,, and it runs till the fluid burns out ,, im guessing bad gas??? the tank is allmost full , so i dont want to have to drain it all out,, can i just add something to it to make it good gas. octane booster, dry gas,, anything???? and would this ,, could this be my problem? any ideas???
Could be bad fuel, but make sure you check the fuel pump, fuel filter and fuel line for leaks before you start doing anything. Check and make sure you're getting gas to the carb, if not then find where the gas is stopping at and fix whatever is wrong there. Could very well be the gas, but even on bad gas it seems like it would run, might run bad, but should run. Also make sure the carb bowl is full of fuel. Hope that helps and good luck.

My guess would be the fuel pump. Ive had mine go out twice since ive owned it and it had the exact same symtoms as yours. Replaced the pump cranked it over long enough to get fuel in the bowls and and it fired right up.

I had a similar problem with mine. It turned out to be the fuel filter, even though it looked clean. Had some kind of clearish gunk in it. Replaced and the beast runs like a champ again.
well boys and girls, it was the GAS, after all, tosed the line coming from the inlet side of the pump into a gas can, cranked for a few minutes, and she started right up,
so im back to my Question???
can I do anything to the gas to make it good???
if not , what the hell am i susposed to do with 12 gallons of bad gas,, can ya say "Fire Pit"
