Hi All,
Sorry if this has been addressed before. Does anyone make or could it be made, a tuner that would effectively REDUCE the hp of the V10 so as to save fuel when 150 hp would sufice around town? The other question I have is would it be possible to electronically reconfigure the motor to run as a V8 (like the Dodge does on its hemi in the 300M).
I.M.O this would give V10 owners the best of both worlds, plenty of power to haul etc when needed, and then max fuel economy when not pulling 30 ft trailers !!
We can do it to a small degree with a custom tuned SCT Xcalibrator2, but remember that its a big truck which takes a lot of power to move. Any large reduction of power will only result in the throttle being pushed down further, negating fuel savings to a degree.
