Buying an f250 v10 got some questions(also posted in v10 forum)
I am looking at an 03 f250 Fx4 v10 w/long box. It has 78000 miles on it which is alot but i only drive about 5000 a year. Two things I have nocited when i test drove it. #1 is that when accelerationing I here a "hisssssing" noise from the front right, til it get up to about 40mph, what could this be? #2 is that when you turn the key over and all the waring lights come on and you let it stay like that for 5sec or so you hear like a "thup" but not a thup, hard to explain over the net. it also does it when you turn the engine over too. might be the fuel pump not to sure??? asked the dealer said it was normal.
Also the guy towed a 6k horse trailer w/ a 5th wheel hitch which he said only a couple of times in the fall and spring. is this something i should worry about? I drove it and check it out and these are the only things that i dont like.
thanks, josh

I think the thup is the vacuum controls on the air recirc damper, the hiss, dont know. Miles are high, but working it shouldn't hurt it, its built for it. I would have it checked out by a different mechanic, look at 4*4 system, ball joints, u joints, check it was greased and oil changes ect ect. Also an oasis report to see whats been fixed or repaired under warrenty.
