replaced rear disc brakes on 04 expdy after replacing they squeele. Never squeeled before, do I have bad disc? Or does some one recommed a pad that I should be using. Only have 40, 000 miles on machine. Do pull a boat. truck stops fine. squeeling is anoying. roters look fine by the way.
My wife's toyota tundra has over 80,000 on it and never had to replace the disc brakes yet. That's kind of wierd you already had to replace yours. Anyway, did you install the brakes yourself? Also, did you already replace the fronts because they should have worn out first. If not, then that might be the problem, the rear's are dragging.
One more possible cause is the parking brake. Does it squeal all the time or just when braking? Most vehicles with rear disc brakes have a mechanical drum brake that works inside of the rear rotor, while some have a mechanical lever to squeeze the pads on the rotor. I'm not sure what yours has but either way it could be not releasing all the way which would cause your squealing problem.
