Will probably depend on the tires on who wins in the mud. The Chevy does have one big advantage over the Ford when going in the deep mud, it doesn't have a low hanging front differential to plow through the ground and slow you down
Chevys suck in mud because the frame rails dip down right under the passanger compartment, limiting ground clearance. My friends all have Z71's and in deep mud they allways bottom the front out.
the chevy 350 is a decent motor, but if its TBI (throttle body injection) its a slug
a bronco 302 efi (stock) will be pretty close to a 1500 or blazer with a 350 tbi.
(i would take on a 91 blazer in my 91 bronco anyday!!!)

No they don't have a front axle hagging down, but their frame is almost just as low.
I don't know why they put 302s in these Broncos, a 302 isn't a truck motor, it can do fine for a daily driver, but that's about it.
A 351W would be a big improvement, but I don't see you beating him in a drag race, now a pull off(can be very expensive if somthing breaks, b/c it won't be small and you don't want to destroy your friends truck), and in mud, you'd take him.
Let him know he has the bigger motor, and might be able to take you on the street, but not in the mud.
