Whatcha think

I have a 97 4x4 4.6 f150.
What kind of a gear ratio would I need in the differentials, to give 2wd the power of 4 lo? The stock diffs. have 3.55 Do you think 4.10 gears in 2wd would be equal to the 3.55 in 4lo?
Would it even be possible, with the gearing in the 4R70W tranny?

you would probably have to go with a wild gear ratio like a 6.00+ :1.
then you would have a top speed of somewhere like 30 mph. and in 4 low, you would have a top speed in overdrive of something like 1-2 mph. but you would be able to pull a house down if you could get traction.

I LIKE THE SOUNDS OF THIS!!!!!!!

haha
What about rebuilding front and rears with 4.1 and some type of automatic locking diff in the rear?

The truck has 3.55 open diffs. The 4r70w tranny stays in first gear forever even under light accel. With 4.1 and tuner could it get out of first at say 5 mph instead of 15?
