I am trying to buy a 24'ish bunkhouse tow trailer and used are scarce so I am wonder what brands and prices people are looking at? I think they have a huge mark up on RV's. Its not like buying a car where they are willing to work from and invoice that you can get online. Any advice? I'm looking at summit and zepplin and salem, I've ruled out any fleetwood prducts the sals is lousey and their product appears far inferior to the others.
when you find the one you want CHECK HERE and see if they sell it. the fifth wheel we are looking at is about $22,000 at a dealer and about $16,000 there
I bought a Thoroughbred by Palomino yesterday. We looked a long time to find what we wanted in our price range. I Felt like we got more for our money with the Thoroughbred. www.palominorv.com
I've been looking at class A motorhomes myself, but I've heard stealerships coming down as much as 28% on a new unit. IMO, the best buys will be either through a private party, or a consignment lot. I'm working through the latter. The best thing you can do is actually to expand your search for more than one make or model. This will allow you more freedom to negotiate the price, and walk away if you think the seller is too proud of their product. Since you're looknig at used, make sure you check the TT very thoroughly. Little things add up very quickly, and there are alot of little things. Leaks can add up the fastest, since mold can set in inside the insulation.
yeah the one i have now and the previous two were used; the one I have now leaked but I knew that when I bought it and fixed it, plus its steel framed not wood so no structural damage. I heard mark up is between 25 and 42%. My problem is we want a queen and bunks, we're tired of making up beds every night and we need more space since we spend 4+ weeks at a time on the road. Finding a used one with bunks under 26 feet is hard. My wife does not want a fiver so I dont want any more than 26-27feet...now I have 22. My biggest problem is gas stations, not the camp grounds. I even think 27' will be a big hassel.
