adding a trans temp gauge

I want to add a gauge for trans temp. and because I have a 4x4, I don't have the coin holder. I want to remove the 12v outlet on the pass. side and mount it there, but I can't seem to get the outlet out. Does anyone know, does it just pull out(with more pressure than I've tried) or is there a bracket on the back of it? Thanks in advance.

if you add an edge you get the performance tune and towing tune and the pod comes with a trans temp from edge. that is one of the features I love about mine.

read my thread - thoughts on the edge

edit - I know the edge isn't cheap, but you are looking at the work inside the truck, and either tapping into the electrical system to get a reading or taping into the trans for a temp probe and all that wiring. I think $330 is worth it for the edge.

The temp guage is cheap and easy insurance.

You just gotta pull on that coin holder harder. It'll come right out.

They are quite easy to install with only one wire needed to run out of the cab and down to the sender unit. You've got access holes already in place.

My coin holder just happened to have a wire connection on the back of it that I used for power & ground. How convenient!

If you pull the dash center panel out you can gain access to the aux power plug in.
