Re: 1974 F100, stock 302 w/2bbl, no a/c, no optional power - Looking for a spark plug to replace original equipment #BRF42B - Local shops having trouble cross-referencing - have tried tapered-seat plugs - they don't seal well enough to prevent compression pressure leaks around the plug fitting - need a gasketted plug? - Any suggestions? Thanks!
[FONT COLOR="#0000ff" SIZE="3" FACE="Veranda"]If I am not mistaken, the cross reference to champion would be an RF-11Y which has a protruding electrode, but I have had fine luck with a Champion RF-10C in these motors.
A counter person worth their salt, at your local part store, should be able to cross reference this for you. Tell them to push the computer aside for once and grab the spark plug vendors book and find the cross reference chart. You will get a funny look, but be persistent with a smile. It should work for you.
