Does anyone know if a 1968 F-350 dually chassis cab came available with power steering in 1968?? My 1968 F-350 dually has power steering, but appers to have a 1973-1977 steering column installed. I have looked through spec sheets and 1968 brochures, and they all say that F-350 chassis cabs for 1968 came with recirculating ball steering, and does not indicate that a power option was available. The factory turn signal switch is not hooked up and a universal column mount turn signal switch has been installed. It looks to me that someone installed the power steering box, pump, and column out of a newer truck to upsate the steering? Do 1967-1972's have different wiring for the turn signal switch than 1973-1977's? Why would someone change the column to add power steering??

Welcome to FTE!
67-72 power steering columns can be hard to come by, but it could have been swapped in for other reasons.
Recirculating ball steering is power steering, manual steering boxes use a worm gear as far as I know.

1968 F350 P/S? I think so, check at your local auto parts store to see if parts are available. A parts catalog (Moog) will have a picture, part numbers, and an exploded view. Exploded view is nice if u go to the wrecking yard for parts or cores. Steering collum, Has to be changed or shortened because the p/s box is bigger and closer to the firewall. Turn signal question,,I would try to re-install an original year turn signal switch in the later collum. Hope this helps..DAHMER
