Has anyone here put a 5 speed manual tranny into their truck? What modifications do I need to make to the clutch pedal assembly to make it hydraulic? I would probably use a B-W T5 or a ZF tranny.

sounds like a what i was thinking about doing to my truck. would be interesting to see it done, i got a C6 backing my 460, wonder if the bellhousing would bolt up and how to do all the fabrication for turning my auto in a manual. good luck on the project, let me know how it turns out.
The Mustang guys could tell you better than I, but I would avoid the T5. The guys that are hammering them hard break them regularly. Go with the Tremec TKO 5 spd. I put one in a '55 F100 and love it. You can get front, mid or rear shifters. Call it a 5spd toploader.
The ZF's also have trouble if you hammer them. They are pretty much considered "expensive throw away."
I like to say, if they can make it I can break it. But this does sound like a good idea with the tranny. I have seen swaps like this with old mustangs. This is the problem I was having with my ranger. I wanted to put a mustang 5 speed in it with the 302 but could not think of how I was going to work out the clutch cable situation since my ranger had a slave cylinder. I wound up going with a C6 instead.
People who say it can't be done should not interrupt the person doing it.
If I'm going to spend that kind of coin on a manual tranny in my truck I'd just get a T-56 6 spd. If it can handle the juice from Vette & Viper & co. I think it could easily handle a mild 351. Plus I could have good gears and still cruise low rpms on the highway.
