That about says it. I ordered a 3" si/so cat back system for my 5.4L powered f150. The idea was to use the cheap kit, and then get a flowmaster 50 bigblock muffler to run on the pipes.
However the muffler that came with the kit is an IMCO turbo series muffler. Rather than trash the thing without giving it a shot (bc the flowmaster BB 50's run $125) Im wondering if I should put it on there and see if its any good.
Im not anticipating earth shaking noise, or ungodly gains in power or efficiency, just something to pull a little rumble out of the truck. Anything extra is just a bonus.
So does anyone have any experience with the IMCO turbo series mufflers?
I have the 3" Summit kit on my '90 F150, 351. Nice rumble, not overly loud. A good value with the level of sound I was looking for. My brother-in-law had purchased a Flowmaster kit for his Dodge, but after hearing my truck, he sent it back & went with the Summit kit. I've had it for 1-1/2 years. No corrosion with the same sound level. I'd recommend it.
