EFI cam question 302

I have a 1984 rebuilt 302 with Hyper pistons
and edelbrock cam
EDL2122
  • Duration Int: 270°
  • Duration Exh: 280°
  • Duration @ .050 Int: 204°
  • Duration @ .050 Exh: 214°
  • Lift @ Cam Int: .280
  • Lift @ Cam Exh: .295
  • Lift @ Valve Int: .448
  • Lift @ Valve Exh: .472
  • Timing @ .050 Intake Open: 5° ATDC
  • Timing @ .050 Intake Close: 29° ABDC
  • Timing @ .050 Exhaust Open: 44° BBDC
  • Timing @ .050 Exhaust Close: 10° BTDC
  • Centerlines Lobe Seps: 112°
  • Intake Centerline: 107°

Heads are stock 1984
Hedman headers (optional)



Will this work in a 1993 e150 van with EFI ?

That cam, although probably okay for a van or truck isn't designed to be computer-compatible. It might work with Mass Air which I believe you have, but it's probably not the hot ticket. A call to Edelbrock's tech line might be in order to get a specific recommendation.

OK will the roller cam from the 1993 block go into the 1984 block?

no the roller cam will not swap to an 84 block.

The 93 cam will swap to a non roller block, but you'll have to buy Crane's $425 link bar hydraulic lifters to use it. Your 93 is Speed Density. The Edelbrock cam won't work with that. Comp Cams has an off the shelf flat tappet grind that will work. P/N 31-255-5 this is the XE250H-14 grind.

P/N 31-255-5 this is the XE250H-14 grind.

Very valuable info. I got two vans pulled apart, parts everywhere, short money, and I need it running before the 15th.

Really big help.
