I have lost my dashboard lights on my 99 F250. Any thoughts as to where I should look and what I should be looking for? Has this been common in these trucks. I have had my F250 for just over a month now.
Are your tails out also? These somethime "piggyback" circuits so one problem could affect the other system. There are several fuses for the instrument panel, both in cab and under hood - look in your owners manual. I had this problem but turns out it was caused by an aftermarket mod someone had added and jumped a wire from the headlight switch that shorted. Check the below thread for the play by play:
Tail lights work as they should no problems there. I should also add that all my dummy lights work just fine it is just the light that illuminates the speedometer and tach etc.
Of course there's the obvious: light dimmer switch set to "off", blown fuse, blown bulb(s), which you've probably checked. I would pop off the headlight lightswitch and check the wires for voltage with the switch on. If you have it then the problem should be between the switch and the panel. If not work the other way.
Well upon further inspection my tail lights did not work. I had brake lights and signal lights but no tail lights. My fuse #8 I think was the culprit, I changed it and all seems good now. Thanks for all your advice!
Well....sounds like you got 'er fixed, Iceman. I had the exact same problem. Went crazy...tore open the fuse box under the dash and replaced any and all fuses......nothing worked. Then I remembered that there's another fuse box under the hood, changed the one that "exploded", and voila. Like you, it affected my instrument panel and my taillights (although brakes and turns worked). Oh well...I've got some fresh fuses in the box now (haha)....thank god they're not expensive!
OK now I have a new issue. The 15A fuse blows very quickly. I just went through 3 of them and the longest lasted about ten minutes. The first blew when I let off the e-brake, then the next one lasted ten minutes and blew while I was out driving on the road. The next blew when I replaced it and closed the hood. What am I missing here? I recently had my brake controller switch from my old truck to this one could this be causing my problem somewhere? Any thoughts?

Easy way to tell would be to unplug the controller and see how long the next fuse lasts.
It could easily be that the controller was connected improperly and you are getting a heavy current draw through the controller.

Definitely a wire shorting to ground somewhere. I've had that a couple of times. The first time it was my cab lights (on top) had a wire pinched behind the A-pillar. The second time it happened only with the trailer hooked up.....shorted wire on the trailers tail lights was popping the fuse.
I would definitely start with the brake controller since it was the last thing modified.

Edit: Ooops, sorry didn't see the fuse blowing issue.
