Speedometer not working in '98
I just bought this F150 on wednesday. It came with a good price and sure enough the speedometer quit working on the way home. I plan on fixing it myself insead of taking back to the place i bought it from, which is over 100 miles away. The mileage counter and the trip odometer still work. Does anyone have any ideas? I think its the speed sensor but I am not sure. I havent really looked b/c i havent had time yet. Any ideas will help!!!

Since the odometer still works that means the instrument cluster is getting a signal from the VSS (vehicle speed sensor). That points to a problem in the cluster itself.
Unless you're lucky enough to find a bad solder connection on the circuit board in the cluster you're probably going to be stuck with replacing the cluster.
