Special 'Stock' pickup bed?
I'll describe it the best that I can.
'78-'79
F100
Standard cab
Long box - style side (regular outside box walls)
Now, here's the strange part.
Inside of the box, the walls were straight, floor to bed rail and tailgate to cab, like those on a step side. There were no fenderwells that were visible at all.
The spare tire hid in front of the passenger side rear tire. The compartment was located where the camper special compartment is but this one was tall.
The older gentlemen said that he ordered the truck new, it was the only truck he had ever owned and he didn't know anything about the truck bed being different. He thought all trucks were like that.
Any ideas?

I love looking through the member gallery.
Here's what I found.

Anyone have a picture of the inside of the bed of their Super Camper Special?
The wheelwells on truck in the link below are what I'm used to seeing but the truck I saw had no wheelwells visible.

Even this stepside truck has a little bit of wheelwell inside the bed but the super-de-duper camper special had nothing. Just a straight wall from bedrail to floor. Thick wall too.

I pasted in the second link and everything went crazy with three different fonts & two different sizes.
When I fixed it and did a preview, all seemed ok.

Just ran across this one in a junkyard a week or so ago. It had a small wheelwell inside up front for the spare tire compartment, but I never really paid attention to the other wheelwells, as I was more interested in how nice of shape it was in.
