1960 Horn ring

It's BOTH. That was one of the upgrades available in the Custom Cab package. Standard was the little button and the deluxe option was the large horn ring. I have a couple trucks of each style. Does the truck have a radio? AX or Henry will probably be able to tell which one your truck had originally from the VIN number.

Do you have the rest of the VIN. What you posted is the normal VIN, but the guys will be able to figure out a lot of things from the other numbers that follow (in the glove box, just read off all the other letters and numbers about the trans and axle, etc). Also, what about the radio? My best guess is that if you have a radio, you would have had the Horn Ring instead of the button.

No radio. Other codes are Color J Date 01M Trans A Axle 01 WB 110 Net HP 125 Max GVW 5000 Thanks to all who wrote in.

Mr4speedford does that mean that all custom cabs had horn rings or just all horn rings were in custom cabs? Thanks

Oooo, you had a "ticket-me" red truck to begin with (Monte Carlo Red). You can safely repaint it red and then ignore all the naysayers who'll tell you there are too many red trucks already.

For years I thought the color was Rangoon Red, but this place set me straight. I think it will be Monte Carlo again, but my son wants a white stripe or two up the hood. Should make it stand out from all the other red trucks. Still a ways off as I'm still trying to get a couple doors.
