Rough Idea on worth?

I've came across a '85 B2 with a 5spd V6 and 4x4 with right around 83,000 miles. Seems to drive alright.

It does have some rust problems in the fender area, and a pretty poor Dupont overhaul.

Owner want's $2K for it, is this even realistic?

I'm looking for something that would make a pretty good offroad rig after some pretty serious modifications.

Just my 2 cents, for 2K everything else would have to be perfect and even then I'd be trying to talk the seller down on the price.

That's what I thought.

An '86 KBBs at $1000 for execellent condition, and $500 for fair condition (this is where I think it falls at.)

My 88 has fresh quarters and doors , no rust 157,000.00 original miles so on and so on and I'm only asking $ 1,500.00. I think that's a little steep, just my 2 cents.

For that price, just find an older 2 door Explorer. Then you wouldn't have to spend the money swapping in an explorer 4.0, d35 and rear end to get it up to where you could put bigger tires on without breaking something.

see, but theres somthing with a 175 hp bronco II thats just fun. Its pretty cool to keep your old rig with a modern engine under the hood! Every one has an explorer, but how many have a 4.0 bronco II?

For 2k I would think some serious modifications should already be done. Unless it has a lift and lockers its only worth $1000 or less. I'll have less than $500 in my 86 when I start driving it.

Could be wrong but I'm pretty sure the 4.0 is 160hp.

Just checked, 91-92 4.0's are 145-155hp depending on model and the 93-96's are 160hp.

160 hp is most likley it. But there more mods you can do with the 4.o and it will have more avaiable parts if needed then the 16 or older 2.9 engine.
