question about chips

hey guys, what's up?

I have a 1991 f-150 with inline 6 300, automatic transmission. I've been looking at chips for a couple of hours now, and came across one that I have some questions on.

I found a very cheap "performance chip", $25 to be exact. Now I don't want to spend alot on a chip, so I figured this would suit my needs. i'm just looking to add a few extra HP's, and some extra torque.

http://www.revchip.com/about.html

The first question I have on this, is do you guy's think it's worth 25$? and secondly, how easy is it to install? is it one that I can just plug and unplug whenever I want to?

PS: if you guys know of some $50ish chips, please reply with the link.

thank you,

nathan

That's not a chip. Its a piece of junk that's a couple of 10 cent resisters in a plastic box. It will do nothing more than dump more fuel, ruin fuel economy and end up destroying the catalytic converter in the long run.... and it won't give you the power it claims.

Do you seriously think with ALL the legitimate chip companies selling for much more that there's such thing as a $25 chip. If it sounds too good to be true its because it is. Don't let yourself get scammed... stay about from this one!

hey man thanks! I called my local Auto Zone, they have one that's like $189.99, they said it increases HP and TQ, and can add a couple of miles per gallon. Is that what I should aim for? If I'm gonna spend over $150 on something, I wanna make sure I'm gettin the right thing.

thanks for the reply

I don't know what Autozone sells. But you're not going to find a chip that adds a couple miles per gallon, at least not for 87 octane. Premium fuel tunes can do it.
