1996 E350 A/C system

System trashed itself at 136,000 so i put on new Visteon compressor, Visteon condensor, Carquest dryer/accumulator, new orafice tube, flushed high side line to rear and high side lines up front and also flushed the dual high/low line bolting to compressor. question is i put just a hair over 3lbs in the system. would rev motor to about 2000 and add 134 until the compressor stayed engaged. low side would get as low as a steady 28 and high around 220-225. question being how do you setup your system? do you put in freon to where the compressor cycles off and on after reaching a certian temp or fill system like i did where the compressor runs at all times when A/C is on? thanks

The tag under the hood tells you the exact amount of R134a that the system should be charged to.

64 ounces is what my chart calls for on a dual AC and 44 ounces if it has front AC only.
64 divided by 12 = 5.33 cans
