9 inch axle codes

I have 1971 F100 4x4 with a nine inch under it and I need to find out if it is possible to determine if it is a 28 spline or a 31 spline axle by the tag code. The tag reads:
WDM-AB OJE
4.11 9 316A
If anyone could help that would be great.

Hmmm...If I remember correctly it looks like you have a 4:11 gear ratio and it might have the 31 spline.....

Chris, It's real easy to pull and count, it you really need to know I suggest that you try that.
