c6 2-3 shift
can anyone tell me how to improve the 2-3 shift on my c6 and what controls the shift? is it the band that engages 3rd? ive heard about the better servo and im not sure what function the better servo would improve.

In the C6 2-3 shift the forward clutch remains engaged, the intermediate band releases and the direct/reverse clutch engages. Shift quality depends on valve timing in the valve body so that there is no time that the band and the direct clutch are engaged at the same time and also no time that both the band and direct clutch are released.

That is some good information. My C6 has an aftermarket reverse pattern valve body in it, I forget what make it is. The trans has always had a bit of a flare between 2nd and 3rd. So I guess that it still does it after a rebuild would lend merit to the idea that the valve body is the problem.
Any ideas on how the modify the valve body to speed up that shift?

A well engineered shift kit will help make firm, well timed shifts. If a shift kit has already been installed in a valve body there is no way to know what effect another shift kit will have. I would only install a shift kit in a valve body I was sure has no modifications. I have used Transgo shift kits (25+ times) with good results. I have no experience with any other brands of kits.
