long/short headers:-
I'm taking off my rusted, old, leaking, headers and thinking about a set of shorties. What's the difference between the long headers& the shorties? same power?(I know the length is different!)'76 ford,390,c-6 4x4.

I believe the difference is that with the shortys, you could have used the stock pipes that came on the truck. But if you have been using full length you probably have a collector to deal with. In other words, new pipes. Unless you have a huge horse power motor, or tune it to the barometric pressure outside (ha ha) you really shouldn't see much of a difference. You may have to get at your plugs from a different angle. That's all I can think of.
