[QUOTE=MEPR]Ya know a buddy of mine from work just got an 06 Civic. Its a nice car but he paid 23K for it (all the bells and wistles). But heres the funny thing, his passenger side air bag is messing up. Could this be the sort of thing that spells a fall for Honda? i know its just one little thing but they are talking recall on this and Honda untill now has been beyond that sort of thing...
QUOTE]
The reason there are more recalls recently for both Toyota and Honda is volumn. Back in the "old days", whan a problem was discovered, it affected a few hundred vehicles and they could quietly take care of the problem and nobody was the wiser. Now, when they have a problem it may affect many thousand vehicles and it becomes public. If it is a part common to many lines, it can look like a Ford or GM recall.
been a few says since ive been able to be on. i live in marion, oh. just south of town, the place where i work is C.Y.T.- cardington yutaka tech. must have been more orders last week, we went from 660 4 cyl accord manifolds a day to 720 this past week, i'll have quite a overtime check. glad to have this weekend off. ive already worked more saterdays this year than last year, and its only february. i may have to get a darned honda for a commuter car, next year im moving out towards larue, the other end of the county and i'll go from a 12 mile commute to a 25 mile drive to work, but on the other hand i saw a ford commercial tonight that claims a V6 mustang gets 28 mpg. id rather have a mustang! might have to check on that.
Up here in our rigs you won't see any Toyotas. We get -50* weather, and deep snow falls in the winter. Snowfall, and frozen ground equates to some seriously deep mud in the summer time.
LOL, we haven't gotten that kind of weather in at least 5 years. My cavalier has only acted as a snowplow once this winter. Up further north we got a bit more but till you are way up, Ft St.John, or further there might be a bit. The east coast and the States are getting more snow. Time to move south I suppose.

That's where I was talking about...I wasn't very clear. Ft St. John, Ft. Nelson, the whole Peace area, you won't see very many, if any Toys up there.
We had a pretty good dump about 3 years ago...but it's been pretty dry and bare the last couple winters. We haven't even gone past -30 yet this year have we?
I would have to say I am the younger crowd around here, and I don't like the Civic at all. In fact make that any Honda or Toyota. Nissan- the Maxima is pretty cool, but must have really bad torque steer. But the stuff coming from Japan is ugly. Period.
If I had all the money in the world, and went to buy a 2006 model, I would either get a F350 Powerstroke crew cab long bed or a Explorer V8. I think there is some hope for my generation, although I am afraid that I may be the minority in that statement.
I know what your saying, I too am a black sheep in the younger crowd. The good thing is that most ppl don't know any better and I take it upon myself to "educate" them. I'd rather walk or take the bus than drive some of the "tuner" civics they drive around the city with their wal-mart mufflers!
I don't know how you guys feel about the Fusion but a lot of people here are raving about that car and have no problem saying all Civics resemble a turds. The funny thing is if you park an 02-05 4-door Civic next to a Fusion and looked at them from the rear and side you'd think the Fusion was about 80% ripped off of the Honda. It's really scary how close they are all the way from side molding to the tail light design. On a recent trip to Detroit I saw these things rolling everywhere and was shocked at the resemblance. Looks like Honda dropped a popular design and Ford picked it up.
I still feel the ridgeline voted truck of the year is a disgrace to American automakers everywhere. The thing doesn't resemble a truck. Well, maybe in a yuppies eyes.
