I know it can be done, but has anyone swapped a supercab onto a reg. cab with 8 foot bed frame? If anyone has done this what kind of problems did you run into? Do i need to put a small body lift in it so it will clear the frame? I'm not worried about the bed. I have the doner supercab, its a 78 F100 2wd and the frame its going on is a 77.5 F250 4x4.
If you going to do this your going to have to lengthen the frame between the front and rear cab mounts. probably not a good Idea if your not a fairly good welder/fabricator.
I'm guessingthat you're thinking you can just swap the supercab onto a regular cab longbed frame, then use a short box, to get the correct legth. This is not possible because on regular cab truck the frame rails kick-up a few inches right behind the cab.
John,
GM writes my paycheck but all I drive is FORDS
I've done it twice. One to fit a super on a standard. And one to fit a super and a 10' utility on a standard. I'm a prof. welder and fabricator/fitter.
Trust me. If you don't know exactly what you're doing, you will have big problems. Everything has to be dead-on-*****. If not,
your truck will not only look crooked, it will drive crooked and you'll never keep tires on any corner of it.
But...it can be done.
