unknown wire harness

put a new cd player in my 03 2.3L ranger and found this harness (gray and yellow) plugged into a plastic holder. does anybody know what it is for?

Is your '03 a standard cab? I'm thinking maybe it's a plug for unused rear speakers...

Not likely for speakers, those are in the wire harness that plugs into the radio itself. I learned this when I redid my speakers. it looks more like something for an accessory that isnt in your truck.

Yeah on the explorers thats the 4wd switch, the rear wipers or the rear defrost on that side of the bezel, I'm going to guess 4wd switch....
