351 info

hello to all out there, well i got a ford f250 a bit ago to part out, it was a 87, so i kept the engine, and the block ID says its a 84' motor, and it has E7 heads on it, and it does have a ford reman. tag on the block, its a 4v carbed motor. now does any one have any info on that engine, ie: carb info, hp ratings, stock cam lift? i am going to put it in my 70' F100 and would just like to bump up the cam a bit, maybe the summit racing one witch is .448/.472 lift and 204/214 duration, some long tube headers. is the carb worth messin with or should i get another 4v? well any info would be great, thanks

call compcams for a recommendation. strange that it has e7's but that would tell me that the bottem end is an 84 while the top end is from an 87. if you change cam figure on getting new springs as well

Just because the block says E4 doesn't mean its an 84 block. It just means 1984 was the last year a revision was made to the block.
