Brake drum replacement?

hi all, new to this forum, my buddy has an 87 bronco 2 4x4, with a 2.9 ltr. and an auto tranny. the other day he was driving down the road and his rear brake drum exploded! i have no expirience with this model, so i was wondering how to replace it, i know in my truck i would have to replace wheele bearings at the same time, is that true for him? just a general idea of how and what i need to do it is all i need. any speacialty tools required? anything that must be replaced at the same time? thanks for any help!!

Exploded? Huh???

Brake shoes, spring kit, wheel cylinders, and drums are all available at the parts stores.

Just like doing any other set of drum brakes. No "wheel" bearing, just axle bearings, and you need to pull the rear coverr and "c" clips out of the diff to get them out. You do not need to remove the axles to replace any of the rear brake components.
